About the Continuous Improvement Specialist

70% - Working on the Manufacturing Floor

  • Introduce lean manufacturing techniques and concepts to the manufacturing team and provide training as required.
  • Facilitate training and Kaizen events
  • Collaborate with the manufacturing team to identify waste in the manufacturing process
  • Implement new tools, methods, standards and processes to eliminate those wastes
  • Relentlessly pursue methods to lower manufacturing lead times and costs
  • Collaborate with the Manufacturing and Engineering teams to identify and implement product improvements that enable more cost effective and timely manufacturing
  • Work with procurement and manufacturing teams to plan supply chain to eliminate raw material shortages while reducing working capital requirements
  • Develop comprehensive metrics for measuring manufacturing effectiveness.
  • Ensure individual and team KPIs are being achieved (see below).

20% - Preparing Standards

  • Develop and improve visual SOPs and work instructions
  • Design testing methods for finished products, and process capabilities

10% - Planning for Future Capacity

  • Planning future space, equipment and personnel requirements for projected growth

Requirements

Our ideal candidate is ultra-collaborative and Gets Fired Up by solving problems as part of a team. They have a passion for improvement and love to Crush Complacency. They deliver their best work when the pressure is on and a deadline needs to be met. All the while they maintain a positive can-do attitude and a healthy sense of humor. You also have:

  • Significant experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Training and experience leading continuous improvement initiatives including Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma tools in a manufacturing environment.
  • The ability to facilitate training and group problem solving
  • Can create excitement and influence change within a team environment
  • Experience working within a craft-beverage environment and/or with packaging equipment is considered a strong asset
  • Electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or automation technology education or equivalent work experience is an asset
  • Great problem-solving skills: an ability to multi-task, prioritize, and control time effectively
  • We rely on technology a lot so you must be proficient with standard productivity and collaboration software, including Microsoft Office 365.

Working at Cask

This role will be located at our manufacturing facility in SE Calgary, Alberta, Canada.

You’ll receive a base compensation, generous benefits including a health plan, defined contribution pension plan and an eligibility to participate in our annual bonus program. There is real growth potential and advancement opportunities in an exciting and rapidly expanding company.

Manufacturing Engineer has maximum of approximately $88,500 which is comprised of:

  • $67,000-$72,000 annual salary, based on experience
  • 3% Pension Matching
  • Potential for up to a 20% annual bonus for outstanding performance
